Cages & Accessories
Bird Cages Cages
Thought should be given when buying a cage. It should be wide enough for the chosen bird to be able to stretch and flap its wings with out hitting the sides of the cage. It should be big enough to include some toys. And it must be easy to clean and maintain. If the bird is going to be handled it is best to buy a cage that has a large opening door as it will make it much easier for you and him/her to get in and out of. Please contact us to find out more about our range of cages.
Perches

Perches
It's a good idea to replace plastic perches with, or include, a couple of perches made from native trees or fruit trees. The different texture and thicknesses of the branches is better for your bird’s feet and being natural timber they can chew them as well.  Important Note: Some timbers such as any painted or treated wood, and certain species of tree should not be used. Please contact us or your vet to find out which trees are suitable for your bird.

Toys

Toys
There are many different toys available for your bird. They love to chew things so you need to provide a good quality chew toy at all times. You should take care in what you are buying as cheaper toys can often break and cause an injury to your bird. Swings, bells, mirrors, and ladders are also good for your bird. To really benefit your bird, you have to stop and think how you would feel being in a cage all day with nothing to do.  A toy that they can chew and climb on and that has a bell is better then 3 single toys. So with a little bit of thought you can save not only money, but room in the cage as well. Inspect their toys on a regular basis and remove and replace any toys that are starting to wear or crack. Please have a look at our range of suitable and quality bird toys.

Play Gyms Play Gyms
There are many different kinds of play gyms available on the market to buy. They are a great idea for your bird to play on but you need to think of your bird and its size before you buy. Make sure you buy one that is the right size for your bird and that he/she can not get stuck trying to climb through ladders and rings etc. Remember if your bird is a baby now they are going to grow. So you don’t want to get one that they will grow out of in a short amount of time.
